Chapter one: A Shadow in the City of Lies Stage directions: Stage curtain opens mist flows out and into the audience, as a backdrop of Ryoko Owari is revealed and focused in on drunken lover’s bridge showing a scorpion couple alone late at night trying to avoid the eyes of others. Stage left a single rice paper wall stands alone for the voice over to speak behind, with a series of three side stages in parallel to the left and right of the audience. Voice over: Cast your eyes to the stage, watch eagerly as a city reveals itself in the early mist of the coming snow. The light of Lord moon stretching shadows to cloak a couple daring a tryst alone on drunken lovers bridge; one a Young Yogo Lord tenderly holding the hand of a fair Shosuro maiden who belongs to another. Watch as she delicately clasping her family mon and crest of the cities lord and governor, feeling the poisoned kiss of the hearts desire. Stage directions: The two lovers embrace with forbidden passion, as the woman drops the governor’s crest. A coin drop is heard as the crest hits the ground. Curtain drops actors exit the stage. Set stage for next scene. Scene change Stage directions: The labored cries of a woman are heard, shuffling of feet and muffled orders being shouted. The curtain is pulled back to reveal two boys wearing identical masks kneeling patiently outside a room as servants rush in and out from off stage and out again taking bloody linen, bringing water and other items. A tall noble man wearing the same mask as the boys and seal of the governor enters the stage pacing back and forth. Thunder is heard in the background as the sound of hard rain joins the chaotic chorus. A bright flash is seen followed by a loud boom of thunder. The woman’s cries cease and after a moment of silence a child’s wail is heard. A servant woman enters from the room, holding a small child in a mask different from the others and hands the baby up to the pacing samurai. Governor: (taking the child proudly in his arms the Governor spins triumphantly). Finally, you are here Kyoshi; my son is born. (Turning back to the servant). What of my wife? Midwife: (Kneeling deeply eyes to the floor, and with fear nearly steeling her voice.) I… I am. I’m sorry my lord governor, the priestess from the temple was not able to get past the flooding in the streets. La…Lady…Lady Misaki was not able to survive the birth of your son.
Stage direction: Curtains are dropped and the room’s lights are dimmed, as the actors are shuffled off stage. Scene change Voice over: The stage is now set for a tale of tragedy and sorrow. For this is the story of Bayushi Yorrie, youngest of three born to the name Shosuro Kiyoshi, carrying the blood of his mothers sin, destined to bear his father’s curse passed down from the days of the kami, and raised as the son of another. I entreat you now stay and watch witness the price of love and the burden of sins forgotten. For the embrace of Yogo’s kiss knows no bounds as fate itself is twisted around the jaded blade of love; but fear not dear audience for I do not love you… Chapter two: Echo’s of sin’s past Stage direction: The curtain opens to a shrine to the ancestors as we see a young man in wedding garb, wearing the same mask as one of the children from before. After several moments of silent chanting a villain enters from stage right whispering to the lanterns flame; using grandiose motions to invoke the fire to grown and encompass the shrine. A curtain over the window of the shine is dropped and all that is seen is shadows, as fire moves behind the curtain and a lone samurai fights against the demons within the flame. Blood splatters on the curtain and the villain leaves stage right as piece of cloth falls from his obi. Scene Change Stage direction: The stage is left as it was before; save for the steam and smoke of the shrine rising from the ashes, while the sound of people crying and wailing is heard from off stage. The Governor storms onto stage fist clenched in rage as a lovely Bayushi woman clad in a wedding gown falls to the floor in tears; stealth fully she pulls a small bottle from her kimono and drinks the fluid within. All the while eta begin to clean up the stage sweeping up the derby. While the wave of emotions falls off into the audience a lone eta low to the floor picks up the fallen piece of cloth tucking it away into his pocket. Curtain falls. Voice over: Join me in my sorrow my dear audience as a joyful day is tarnished with blood. A groom is cast to the funeral pyre before his final rights are performed his soul’s link to the ancestors lost in a blink of an eye the shadow of greed and malice stifling the cries of harmony as the flames of chaos are fanned with the scent of opium on the wind. The eldest son of the Governor and lord of the Shosuro cartel Yori lays dead, his childhood love Bayushi Kamiko weeps, finding solace in her only lover left to her in this life, her precious liquid void. Judge her not my audience for the scales of fate are already cast and the jaded blade of love has tasted the heart of the city of stories. Watch and witness the night that sparked the chaos that will paint the city of green walls red. Scene change Stage direction: The curtain is opened to a jail bearing the seal of the magistrate’s office. A door opens and out walks Kiyoshi the seal of the emerald magistrate hanging from his obi designating his station. From stage right the Governor walks on stage looking at Kiyoshi for a moment; before Kiyoshi adverts his eyes to the floor. The Governor then enters the room slamming the door. All that is heard from behind the door is screams echoing across the theater. Kiyoshi moves over to a window and washes his hands in a basin, his shoulders drop in despair before being engulfed by rage as he knocks everything to the floor stage left, as a lowly eta enters the room bowing low holding the piece of cloth bearing the mon of the Soshi up for Kiyoshi to claim. Curtain drops. Chapter 3: Chasing the dragons tail Scene change Stage direction: The curtain opens and a chilled wind washes over the audience. The lord Governor and his two remaining sons stand in a throne room two Soshi men are bound and faces held to the ground by guards. The Governors hand held high in position to pass judgment, interrupted by a clear ringing of a gong announcing a dignified guest’s arrival. Ushered in is the lord of the Yogo wearing the weight of the years since his last visit to the city of stories, accompanied by a new lovely young Yogo bride. Kyoshi looks up as Yogo Sakura eyes meet his own. White doves are released behind her as cherry blossom petals are rained down on the stage. Curtain falls. Voice over: Shinsie once said the sins of history past are doomed for us to repeat when their lessons have not been learned. Such is the curse of a life of secrets. I entreat you now watch the innocent steps that guide even the most noble among you away from your true love and into divided loyalties. Stage directions On the left the first side stage curtain raises showing Kiyoshi and Sakura playing a game of Go tossing playful glances accustom to young love, taking its infant footsteps. While to the right the first stage curtain raises showing the Yogo Lord visiting the shrine to the Governors wife tears of loss raining down from his face as he falls to his knees in grief. The first two curtains drop. Second stages Before either curtain raises from above the stages snow is let to drift down into the audience showing a change of the seasons. The second stage curtains rise on the left Kiyoshi walks with Sakura introducing her to people as they pass. To the left Bayushi Kamiko kneels behind her bother as the Yogo lord talks with Shosuro Ryuu with a gesture he motions to Bayushi Kamiko and then gestures across the audience to Kiyoshi. With a careful moment of thought Shosuro Ryuu nods in agreement, as servant arrives with two letters. One bearing the mon of the Soshi handed to the Governor while the two Bayushi trade nervous glances, the other to the Yogo lord who quickly reads the message and then disappears in a puff of smoke. Third stages: The left curtain rises as a young boy barely out of his gempuku wearing the mon of the Soshi is surrounded by a number of masked men armed with blades. The curtain is lowered as the assassins charge the boy and blood trickles under the curtain. To the right Kiyoshi kneels at family shine dressed in wedding garb, before standing up he takes the mask once belonging to his brother Yorie replacing it with his own. The curtain drops. Main stage: Drunken Lovers Bridge is once again hangs as the backdrop as Yorrie and Sakura daring a tryst alone cloaked under the clouded night sky avoiding the preying eyes of the city of secrets as it sleeps. All save for the betrayed eyes of Bayushi Kamiko watch from the right side of the stage. Mindlessly she pulls a bottle of liquid void from her kimono drinking her fill. Curtain drops. Voice over: Cast your eyes once more to drunken loves bridge, watch eagerly as history repeats itself in the early mist of the coming snow. The light of Lord Moon stretching shadows to cloak the couple daring a tryst alone on drunken lover’s bridge, one our Young Yogo, Lady Sakura tenderly holding the hand of Bayushi Yorrie her heart swimming in sorrow as her beloved was recently given to another. All the while the piercing eyes of Bayushi Kamiko watch from the shadows the dishonor done to her not going unnoticed. Main stage: Curtain rises to show a scene of a number of men in plain garb loading crates onto a barge, their faces concealed by basket hats, along with a number of men kneeling at the sides of the stage clothed the same way armed and ready for a fight. A tall samurai directs the loading of as one of the workers drops a crate, the contents of opium spilling onto the stage along with items bearing the mon of the Soshi. The cast to the sides of the stage swoop in to strike as the drug lord flees with Yorrie in pursuit as his brother moves to be heavily engaged. The scene on the stage shifts as it focuses in on Yorrie and the fleeing drug lord who turns to face Yorrie entering a duelist stance. A crowd of merchants and peasants gather, as Yorrie looks around for a brief moment before accepting the challenge. Both spend a good few moments in deep focus measuring the others skill before striking. The drug lord strikes first, slicing Yorrie’s helm down the middle, but missing its mark. A fraction of a second later Yorrie strikes back his blade cutting deep into the chest of his opponent. The Drug lord falls, his helm tumbling away into the crowd as Yorrie’s drops to his feet. In shock, Yorrie gazes at the man who became his brother with the vows he took with his new wife. As the shock settlings in a cart pulls up carrying the body of his brother fallen in battle. Side stage right: Sakura is seen as the curtain rises looking at her self in a mirror fondly rubbing her hand over her belly. All the while a servant watches her, then walks to the side of the small stage and writes a message with the Yogo seal handing it to another off stage. Side stage left Lady Bayushi Kamiko is kneeling and heavily sake when a messenger comes from off stage kneeling and presenting her with a letter. She reads the note sadness over taking her she pulls the vile from her obi and drinks the contents as the curtain drops so does she as only her hand and the bottle can be seen from under the curtain. Voice over: Tell me, my attentive audience, have you seen it? Have you seen the bitter cursed kiss of love twisted by darkness and corruption? Have you seen the binding incantation of Yogo’s curse? The moment when all true love falls to ruin; and desolation is all that is left in its wake? Of course not my trusting audience you have only seen carefully weaved words. Just remember now as you follow them to their final moments. For our greatest teacher instructed us that all words are footprints they will follow a man where ever he goes. Watch carefully know as we enter our final hour, and take care where you tread. Chapter 4: Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink Main stage: The curtain opens to a new backdrop of the Yogo throne room The aged lord sitting on his throne a worried expression across his face as a Raven fly’s in from off stage. He quietly reads the message the lines of worry on his face fading into those of rage. Raising his hand six armed men appear on stage and vanish off with the wave of his hand. Side stages: Series of Murders starting from the third side stages. First set of side stages ends with a couple palace guards being murdered. In the third stages two servants who escorted the Yogo lord and his bride into the throne room are seen being murdered. Once that happens the second side stages open revealing a priestess, wearing the robes of the sun temple and a man surrounded by opium being the next to fall. Next the first side stages with the assassins killing a couple Palace guards. Song is sung by the chorus. Let me show you my world See through the eyes of this girl Break these chains, wash away the stains Until nothing but a free mind remains
Maybe then you will see What the beauty of life truly means Take my hand for the time we'll spend On this journey through a new wonderland
There's no place around Where the beauty of life can't be found Hear the wind whisper tales and hymns Of a new dawn about to begin
Leave your past behind Let go of the doubts in your mind Change your ways here's the chance you craved For a new start with the cleanest of slates
Main stage: Rain and thunder are heard as steal clashes before the curtain rises. Curtain is raised to reveal a scene of battle outside the very same room from the first act where Yorrie was birthed. A number of guards lay dead as the assassins have come for their final targets. Out numbered Yorrie and his father fight valiantly, holding off a number of advances. All the while one of the assassins is seen coating his blade with a thick liquid. Moving quickly to strike Yorrie in his back the strike is only stopped by the most noble of sacrifices. Yorrie’s father rushes from the side striking down two of the assassins before stopping the final blow meant for his son sheathing it with his own body. Thunder clashes with a final flash of lighting the cries of labor end. Tears rolling down Yorrie’s face past his mask he strikes down the final assassin. Holding his dying father in his hands the midwife from act one brings forth a newborn child in a mask presenting the child to Yorrie the woman exist the stage. Curtain falls as Yorrie sits kneeling in the center of the stage in one arm he holds his father and the other a new life born from the woman he loved. Final Voice over: Ask yourself my dear audience, did you have the pleasure of speaking with the fair Sakura? Have you unknowingly cast yourself into the sights of an aged Yogo lord consumed with rage and tainted by madness? Or do you simply linger and weep for the innocent moments of happiness shroud in shadows turned to the villous of poisons? Now my audiences weary and heavy in your hearts sneak home and pray you never know the hell where youth and laughter go.

So one part pork fried rice, two part good music, one part writing goal. Result 12 pages of npcs to pull plot from so far for the project!
It actually feels great right now to have all this working out so well for the writing part. So far even a few bites of interest. So much work yet to due. Need to pick up a number of maps maybe a road trip my next free weekend ending at my fav spot.
Ah to be back and dealing with old problems like boredom; and other peoples drama that I will never understand. In a weird way I kinda miss the predictable day of class PT duties, and herd the cats known as the young airman and ensuring they have decent moral.
Well now back to the writing. I think my goal will be to out do the great exploit that was my half of year of writing that resulted in the great exploit known as the l5r chronicle. May I be as lucky that this endeavor craves itself on peoples hearts just as well.
So now back to the drawing board |

Does anyone know of any weird stories in Orange ct?
It has only been a few times that I have driven through ct with my Daughter now that she is all talkative, but every time we pass through Orange ct she tells me we are home, home is here.
When I try and explain to her we are only half way home back to Brooklyn she has issues understanding and has a fit when we leave.
Now if she could see the signs this would make this less odd, save for one time it was back roads, and the last time was late at night. |

I wonder sometimes what the obsession humanity or at least aspects of its cultures have with desiring lasting effect on this world. Read my fair share of philisophical stuff on the topic, some ranging from the argued side that in the end nothing matters. Why? Well when looked at the spectrum all we do in life is nothing more then a drop of a stone in the river of time. While it does create a ripple that very ripple does fade and is quickly forgotten. Even with the concept of recarnation we see the same equation as a stone skipping. More ripples but even they fade. Even with a modern age of information the effect one has to create something lasting is dim. Admittedly not nearly as slim as ages past when only truly great or dark people formed any lasting effect on the world around them or to come. While the human experience all to often is subject to mear survival and a shadow of the living experience even that one primal instinct has been know to birth truly promising moments.
Despite that chance I often find little merit in mear survival. After all if you are to only experience a shadow of lifes promise why would you settle for that? Is it the shear fact that the reality of life grinds down our inner beauty and spirit that we lose all desire to strive for more? Yet that desire often becomes cluttered with petty morality and ethics that rarely apply to those they are used to judge. Brings forth the question of redemtion. A colorful concept riddled with as much challenged idealogical concepts ranging as far across humanities span of cultures basis that it forces one to contend that morals as a over encompassing concept fails to provide propper guidance to the self for in the end all one is judged by is one self. Forgive the utter lack of over arching spiritual thought in this matter for it is one of life and not death, despite its darker hue. Life is judged only by life, and while I choose to ignore its mirror image and find some shred of truth in my own desire for meaning I obtain only questions.
To counter my opening concept we can introduce a simple theroy. One action while small affects others and thus changes in ever so slight a manner there direction or lack of one in lifes pattern. While this patter is suttle and hardly noticed to a naked eye, enough stones can shift a stream given time. Yet a simple question has to be asked. This basic and elementry thought has to be known to those that have debated this issue over the history of time. How is it then that the obsession with effecting with lasting influence clouds lifes judgemenets?
Breaking from this course of thought, let it simply be asked then what it is to be human? To live, feel pain, and die are our only certain things in this life. No life is certain to be blessed with love, compassion, or any of those possitive experiences we strive to suround ourselves with. Experience for the sake of experience? Life is many things if nothing more then a tapestry cluttered with lifes we delude ourselves into believing as truth. Hope, Love; are they capable of becoming truth in a world build on lies? Not a very modern way of thought I am aware, but it is one that questions and strives. If all one is left with is time, we either suffer in our own blindness, find singular truth unique to our own lives or wait with questions.
In the end what kind of world it would have been if Adam and Eve ate not of the tree of knowledge, but the tree of life. Or as a fun twist if it was Adam that fallen prey to weakness first.
Though I lay wrapped in nights ebon embrace I strive to see the evening stars faint light. |

Your Score: Orpheus 33% Extroversion, 100% Intuition, 72% Emotiveness, 76% Perceptiveness You are an artist, an aesthete, a sensitive, and someone who has never really let go of that childlike innocence. To you, all of life has a sense of wonder in it, and the story of Orpheus was written about someone just like you.
When the Argo passed the island of the Sirens, Orpheus played a song more beautiful than the Sirens to prevent the crew from becoming enticed. When his wife died, he ventured into the underworld to charm Hades but, in his naivete, he looked back becoming trapped there.
You can capture your unique world view and relate it to others with the skill of a master storyteller. Your sensitivity and creativity make you a treasure to the human race, but your thin-skinned nature and innocence can cause you a lot of disenchantment and pain. What's doubly unfortunate is that, if you try to lose those traits, you never will, and everyone will be able to tell that you're putting up an artificial shell to prevent yourself from being hurt.
Famous people like you: Hemingway, Shakespeare, Mr. Rogers, Melville, Nick Tosches
Stay clear of: Icarus, Hermes, Atlas

Yeah thats right still confused that straight forward simple. I took the offer to join staff. had part of the reason explained to me why i was brought on board, but what confuses me now is not that I am staff, no. What confuses me in my first night on staff, I smoked so much less then I have smoked at a game in ages. In fact during the course of the game I did not once go smoke. If I recall right I had one before game and two or three after game.
My question is does being staff become less stressful then playing Dmitri? Ah guess its ok since Dmitri got jack by Carlos. Mexican america setite jackal oh the pain the pain. Anyway. It was a good night I hope I can do a good job entertaining players with all kinds of cray shit.
Other then game shit, I might have learned a few important facts today from having a few chats with Michael. This all told could be a good thing.
Oh and Annette and Kaitlynn are back from the bahamas and arently she bought a 1300 dallor painting.... .... .... .... Umm yeah.
So I think I may try this mythic sleep thing now seeing as its 4 am. |

Another fun week at work, think we are up to about 80 some odd trucks. This basicly means overtime will not stop till we are back down to 30 trucks. With the oldest and largest shift on average getting out 1-4 trucks between 12 guys; this is unlikely to happen anytime soon. I fully feel the same way as the guy on another shift who wrote a sign saying to fire the first shift.
Considering going to the musem this thursday depending on if anyone is going and what time it runs till. Otherwise other options are maybe nickle night drunken fun or hermiting.
Oh and before I forget I am so enjoying this weather, nothing better then spinning out 2 times before you even get to the highway. Thank you Manchester and your untouched roads.
I am debating forsaking any claim to my malpractice case, on the simple principal that I may just wish to forget that month ever happened. Not really sure anything positive can come of this.
There is more I would like to say, but mind is still fuzzy and I need to get ready to go vacum the east hartford place and hand in the keys and get rent and what not out. |

Its 5 am and I am not alseep why the hell is this? Well I went to requiem tonight ate at a diner and dropped people off. Though for many amusements I met people tonight I use to be much more social tonight and honestly I could not remember several of there names. Has it been that long?
Though on the note for the game it amused me though the other carthains need back bones one way or another. Yet getting to punk a prince for very little reason and have very little bad things happen makes me amused and is well a nice sign of a weak prince and a indy game. Yet while Connor amuses me greatly had to catch myself at the end of the night cause I had Dmitri slip through for a briefest of moments.
Annettes visit could of gone better. Really need to learn that expressing emotion is a bad idea. Yet having the chance to see my little one was wonderful. Still surprised she asked Michael to pick her up. She is normally always so shy. The surprise visit by my mother and brother though were not that welcome since I was certain it would lead to stress.
To make matters stressed the car check engine light came on and the head light burnt out finally. The damage from this accident is just growing. If I need a new car I slay someone and sell their soul to some devil for this. Na thats to messy and to time consuming, I'll settle for just yelling at someone alot from some insurence company. Been pacient and really my level of understanding and compassion is really at the suck point.
At least I was able to steal free labor out of the guys I drove to requiem to remove the hutch which is kinda ruined now and sitting by the dumpster.
So again its 5 am punked a prince was pulled over by a cop and had a few awkward moments tonight. So I am crashing and sleeping enjoy your days all cause I will probably be hiding in a warehouse till some point next friday. |
